fd starts but turns off
Hey guys im new to the forum so this is one of my first posts so be easy on me
So i just bought a 93 fd motor is stock except for the following mods.
(HKS Carbon Ti Exhaust,HKS Intakes, HKS Downpipe, HKS SSQ BOV.)
The car turns off stays on for like 10 seconds then turns right off. It idles kind of fine but sounds weak for that short time. once i press the accelerator 1 sec it turns off too.
Now i know the second turbo is leaking much oil but the car has oil when it was checked. I did a compression test and got 70psi on each face of the rotors and the battery is bad. what can it be thanks.

things to look at:
1: rebuild (your about to need one anyway at 70psi compression)
2: get a new battery or recharge the one you have
3: overhaul the fuel system (replace filters, replace worn lines with steel braided lines, upgrade fuel pump i recommend the supra tt pump made by Denso, have injectors flow tested or replaced)
4: while the motors out replace/upgrade other parts like vacuum lines, radiator, intercooler, pullys/belts, ignition (i prefer the hks twin power), turbo (OEM or single, up to you) anything else that may be worn or you just want to upgrade
5: make sure your wiring harness is in good condition (no exposed wires/electrical arching) could be that your fuel pump isnt getting enough power and when you put the engine under load it just falls on its face
all of these will cost around $3k-$4k depending on who does the work
-hope that helps

I had a similar issue after giving my fd an engine transplant. My problem was that the fuel system was only priming the fuel and nothing more, so my engine would stay on for about a little less than 10 secs an then shut off. After hours on the forum and a walbro later, it turned out that while the car was sitting for a while (3 years...) mice had chewed through a few wires... Check your fuel pump resistor, it may have bad wires or gone bad itself. It's the heat sink looking thing under your cruise control. You can also bypass the resistor to run 12 volts to the fuel pump (the stock ecu runs 9 volts until it senses a load then runs 12 volts)
Hope this helps, Busted7 helped me with this one
