FD spark plug socket sizes all the same?

Super rookie question - a search of the forums didnt have much info for the FD sizing.
- Are all the FD spark plugs going to use the same socket size?
- What size socket is needed if so? Not sure if its the common 13/16?
- Is a thin wall required, or preferred? Saw the $110 socket tool and there must be other options..

thank you!

13/16 all day long. Make sure you buy plugs for a rotary engine. NGK is what Mazda used.

I think you'll find that a thin-walled socket is easier, and there are casting lips around the plug hole that effectively guard the plug.

Also... if this is your first time changing them in the FD, it's WAY easier to do from under the car. The Service Manual has you pulling the intake elbow and a bunch of other stuff to do it from the top, but if you can get under the car, you can access them much easier.

Use a little anti-seize and one plug at a time.

Yes 13/16 On a 1/2 Is what I use. Even on a stock set up you can squeeze your arm in there and get them out from the top. I never went through the bottom before but that sounds like a much better way of going about it

I'm an FC guy that retained my AC & PS, and even though it is easy enough to get the plugs in & out from the top, I always do it from the bottom -- that avoids all the inevitable forearm scrapes and bloodshed that I'd get doing it from the top.
