Fd Engine missalignment and tramp
Hi all.
Im having some issues. First off the rear of the gearbox is hitting on the transmission tunnel. I've slackened off the bolt that bolt the gearbox to the C channel that goes to the diff and can move the box over but naturally wants to sit against the right hand side of the tunnel. The engine mounts dont look as if they are slotted to allow adjustment to the eng/box position and they dont look bent. Where is the rear of the box suppost to sit. I'm guessing more central.
The other problem is when you light up the wheels there is a lot of tramping going on. I dont think its from the rear end as I've checked everything and there is no play or movement. As the gearbox is missaligned and close to the transmission tunnel I think its the eng and box that is moving and hitting the body. I've checked the eng mounts and they seem a bit soft but they are std so guess they are going to be a bit plush.
Is there anybody with a similar experience.
Any help would be appreciated.
