Like the title states: I have an FD transmission and I want to use it for something. Most people use the FC transmission though. I want to know if the FD is the same basic transmission.

I'm not worried about gear ratios and such, but does the FD transmission have the detachable bell housing like some earlier models? and is the bolt pattern (from bellhousing to transmission) the same?
