FC RX7 Crank but wont start, fuel problem?
FC RX7 Crank but wont start, fuel problem?
Hi guys,
13b bridgeport turbo.
Car cranks but wont fire. Has never done this before, but the car has been sitting for 2 years while off the road, gets started every now and then and is usually fine.
Have checked spark, all good. So moved onto fueling. Pulled out the outlet hose from the fuel pump and tried cranking over and no fuel was coming out. The relay seems to be working fine... However I can smell fuel in the cabin while trying to crank over.
Could this just be a faulty fuel pump?

I'd start checking Everything..and I mean Everything.
Start at the air filter and AFM.If the car has sat for 2 years then you could have animals living in that area!
One of my cars sucked in mice babies..
Saying this because if the Flapper on the AFM does not move due to any "blockage" you will not get fuel to the engine.
It doesn't take long before the fuel system breaks down and gets clogged due to bad gas.So I'd start by flushing that out too.
There is a 14mm nut on the passenger side of the Tank(on the FC..you didn't mention your car SERIES)
Easy thing is to take the hose off at the Main filter and observe flow FIRST..If you get fuel then put on a new MAIN filter. That will save you at least from having to get into the tank to change the sock on the pump...for now.
