fc cold start wont idle

when i start my car cold, it goes through the quick warm up process and revs to about 3k then when it comes back down it doesn't idle. I have to hold the throttle to keep it idling. but after driving for a bit (when it warms up completely) i can stop and it will idle fine on its own. what might be the problem? iv already removed and checked the Air Control Valve and theres nothing wrong with it, it works fine. any idea?

thanks,
patrick

Your problem seems to be the Throttle Position Sensor. Also check for broken vacuum lines and the AFM.

i was driving it around a bit to day and when i was warming it up fully so that it would idle, i found that the temp gauge would work only until it was about 2-3mm in to the box like part, then it would stop moving. i knew the car wasent warmed up yet because it was still trying to stall when i wasent touching the gas. so i continued to warm up the engine until it idled on its own drove it around and even after that the needle still hadent moved but it was obvious that the engine was warmer than it was when it stopped. could it be the engine temp gauge?
