fan issues
so I have been doing work to my new 00 FD,
Just changed the Water temp gauge to digital in place of old one and stuffing around with the air intake (picked up 2 Speed by spectra breather filters) Don't buy them they are cheap and they blow apart from std bov,
Pulled the AST and gave it the once over reinstalled till new one gets here, flushed the radiator
Then started to do the TPS adjustment the car got to 111c and the fans didn't cut in I turned the car off still no fan, the car has never overheated I am assuming Because its hot here and i always have the air con going and when its on the fans run.
So i am a bit lost as to why the fans kick in when the air is on but not without it

That's how it should be. ---> https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...ntrols-876767/
In our S6 FD's the stock thermoswitch was designed to activate the fans at a threshold of 108 C. AFAIK, it was the same in later series. So why didn't your fans kick on at 111 C.? It might just be due to slightly different calibrations between the thermoswitch and your guage. It also could be a bad thermoswitch, a bad relay connection or bad relay. You'll have to do some checking.
FWIW, it's common to replace the FD thermoswtich (108 C. threshold) with a S5 Rx7 thermoswitch (95 C. threshold) for additional safety. A small PITA to get to, but completely plug and play and worthwhile IMO.
