Exterior Door Handle (Need help)

I just bought an exterior door handle for my '87 GXL and need help on how to put it on. I put it on and it worked fine. But its loose, like if I pull it, it wants to come out. Anybody know how to tighten it?

The handle attaches to the door with 2 10mm bolts.
Did you secure the handle after hooking up the rods?
