CA exhaust piping question

Hey everyone,

im trying to set my TII exhaust system closer to stock since my current setup which came with my car is just too loud...im trying to get an OEM exhaust but I dont have the pre-cat/main cat section of tubing...downpipe midpipe whatever its called... would I be able to use an aftermarket one like the Tanabe or HKS downpipes and would I still need a main cat to connect the pipes or are those downpipes designed to be a complete cat delete for both? i tried looking at the parts list for the stock exhaust but it looks like its separated into 3 diff sections...its like cat...pipe...main cat...middle exhaust pipe (one with the Y Split on it to the mufflers) thanks...hopefully that made sense

The RB system comes as a Down pipe, presilencer and Then the Y pipe to 2 mufflers(the latter known as a Cat back).
The HKS is a little longer and it sort of Takes the place of the cat,but Not all the way to a Y pipe(unless you have all HKS stuff).
Look into just the 2.5 inch RB downpipe and attaching that to a stock Main cat,.That should delete your precats but keep your Emissions at bay.

thanks for your help! are there any other downpipes that can connect straight to the Y pipe at the rear? the RB 2.5" one would require a main cat correct? Im mainly asking because I dont want to have to buy a main cat at this time...

you can get a pipe that connects between the Downpipe and the Y pipe(called a Cat delete pipe).
.You can fab one up or buy a 20 inch pipe (I believe that is the size.)
