SC Exhaust Drone

I have an 88 Rx-7 and was wondering what would be the best way to go about reducing the drone of my car around 80 mph. I travel a lot in this car and its time to do something. Would replacing the header be the right route? And what should I look for in a new header?

Does the car have just the header but still have the stock exhaust?

Could be worst man. Some moron did "true dual" race pipes in mine. Removed the crossover section, kept the cats, kept the mufflers. Just added obnoxiously loud lameness!! I don't at all get the point of it!! It sounds like every fart can Honda I've ever hated!!!! Breaks my heart to step on the gas. :"(

Since you are fairly new at this,I can tell you that having a header and STOCK mufflers will not make you "scary"..lol..(no nice rumbling sound..just Buzz.)
It will sound like you are a Bee Keeper going to work, with a Big Hive in your car!

Well maybe it's the blown cats or my mufflers aren't as stock as they look cuz my car sounds hhhorrible. Idk if it's the headers or the "true dual" or the mufflers but it's awful. Fart can!!

Sometimes you just gotta Break down and get what is meant for the car.
In My case I got the Racing Beat system..and IT is a Great sounding and durable exhaust.

Ya it's a tough choice. I kinda do like the sound its just a bit raspy. I really need a new mid section x pipe it seems. But I'm probably gonna try removing the cats and adding 2 resonators see how that sounds. If that's still horrible I'll go back to stock type.

Could be because my mufflers are old and blown stockers. But I picked up a Racing beat streetable header (single collector), removed the factory pre-silencer garbage, then added a length of tube to my Cat to connect to the RB header so I could keep using my Aux ports, and left the stock Y-pipe and dual stocker mufflers.

But it sounds rather nice I think, not too ricey, but a tad angry bees like mystery mentioned. But for $75 total, I am satisfied, and I can tell a difference in power. I can take pictures or attempt a video if it interests anyone. Not sure how well my camera picks up sound "in-car" though.

Part 2( 3)
Secluded area that no one goes through, yaya, take it to the track.

for whatever reason the youtube took my wide angle videos and stood them upright and slimmed down, oh well.

Drone at highway speeds is not bad at all I don't think, now the radio.......
