You can make your own with some angle iron and a welder, or buy one from Pineapple or Racing Beat or Mazdatrix

I am curious as to the specs these things need to have also? I would prefer to build one myself.

This really should not be that hard but you will be hard pressed to build one for cheaper than you can buy one (pluss the hastle) I just dont think its worth it.
$79? to buy....
