I have an '87 rx7 that I'm getting ready to put in a 13b engine and manual transmission. I've never done this before so does anyone have any tips that you wish you had known the first time you did this?

Thanks!

I know that we could discuss this offline, but maybe if I offer suggestions here, somebody else will find it helpful.

First, give as much info as possible. Is your car an automatic? Is your car a turbo? Are you putting in a replacement motor from the same series? Is it from a different series?

If you are putting one in from the smae series, the swap is pretty straightforward.

Label everything!!!

Have lots of bags and containers to put small parts in (label the bags and containers!)

Pull the engine and transmission out together. Put the engine and transmission in together.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

yeah just make you sure you have all the appropriate tools before beginning, you don't wanna be running around looking for tools while in the middle of everything, and as they said too, label everything, last thing you want is a missing piece or ending up with extras.
