Hi just I bought my first 7, she is a 82 GSL with a 126,000 miles on her.
The idle sound a little rough to me. The idle ranges from 550 rpm to 1100 rpm.
Also when the motor is cold she likes to stall when I going to move after a stop sign or red light, unless I put the choke out about half way. I'm thinking it a timing or loose throttle.
Any body else had this problem?

1. giving the carburetor a thorough cleaning cannot hurt.

2. troubleshoot for vacuum leaks. you may (or may not) still have the original vacuum hoses. dry rot, cracking and splitting of the vacuum hoses can cause hard-to-find leaks.

3. you should probably invest in a full tuneup if you haven't already done so.
