Electronic ignition.
My 79 !st Gen that i am getting has points and i was wondering how hard it would be to swap over to electronic and what would be the gains of doing so.

Definitely worth doing. More power, better economy, easier starting, better reliability.
Take a look in the 1st Gen Archives, I believe there may be a writeup on how to do this.
If not, then try searching for the term "points conversion" or something like that. There are probably multiple threads on this topic.
It is not a difficult job to do, but I don't know the details because I have not had reason to do this myself. Good luck.

Im sorry i posted before i looked around.LOL.I did search the Archives and found all that i needed and more.The problem is deciding which route to go.There is so many options and routes to take with this car.
