ECU / Wiring Harness Connectors
The engine blew on my car over a year ago, and we took pictures of almost everything we removed except unplugging the ECU. I bought a new harness and I'm unsure about a few of the connectors.
There are 4 blue connectors near the computer. One comes from the wiring harness and one comes from the car. The other two seem as though they're just attached to an extension ,except the wires are bound to some others that come from the ECU.
The red circle shows the blue connector (covered in foam) that comes from the car, and the blue circle shows the connector from the harness (the new harness has a white connector, but the original harness had a blue connector).
I'm unsure of what to connect where. It seems to only make sense to plug the harness into the 'extension' wires and then plug those into the connector coming from the car. Otherwise I'd be plugging the extension wires into itself.
Can anyone tell me if this is correct? What's the point of the 'extension' wires?
Thanks!
