early rx muffler

Hi guys/gals- first time posting- I'm a mazda tech of over 20 years, and I came across an old stock muffler from an early rotary mazda of some sort (rx2-rx4 possibly). The item is not in the best of condition since it has been sitting on a dusty old shelf at the dealership where I work for quite some time. It was never used. Looking for any clues as to what it might fit and thought maybe this forum could help. Also looking to get rid of it if anyone needed it. thanks in advance. Gonna try to upload the photo I took with my phone to this thread.

Looks RX-5'ish to me. The one on my Cosmo is very similar. Is the exhaust tip a flat rectangle?

That is a "main muffler" assembly for an Rx-2; reference: Clymer Rx-2 & Rx-3 Shop Manual, page 86. Matches the breakdown picture exactly. The Rx-3 assembly doesn't have the small chamber in the pipe at the header end.
