Are conv. motor mounts different than a coupe? My engine is sitting 2.75 " closer to the left side

Yep...I got that from your profile, but it just helps if we don't have to go find that information. In this new member section we could be talking about anything from a 1979-2002 RX7.
And in that link I posted it lists 88-92 Convertible as being different than the other year 2nd Gen. RX7's. I'm not certain what you're dealing with in the engine (91 turbo into a 88 vert) swap, but that could be your problem.
