My drivers door has a problem. The upper vinyl is torn. Can just the vinyl be replaced, and has anyone here done this. looking for hints and tricks.

 

I cant see why not... I had something similar done with my seat recently, a bit of a bolster rip on the vinyl side. Took it to and upholster shop and matched up the vinyl and fixed. I would assume a place that specializes in upholstery would be able to... not sure but just throwing out some ideas

 

I've done it on a 1985. Just sewed new vinyl on and wrapped over the top and secured.

 

I tried it myself, with not much success. There are upholstery shops that can do it. While you're door panel is out, you might want to look into a new window regulator.
Mine got real stiff, hard to move the window.
