yea right after i posted this i figured that one out. turns out i need to have the locking mechanism rebuilt or replaced. now i was kind of thinking about hooking up the power windows.. one of these plugs is the one for the power locks right? and it should be somewhat simple to do this?

I don't recall exactly which harness is the power windows. If I had to guess, I'd say the yellow and black. Check the wiring diagrams in the Haynes/FSM.
Most cars came with all the harness necessary but if yours is early, you may need the door harnesses from a power window car.
Or, you can do what I did and just wire them up yourself with your own set of switches.
