Just bought a 91 vert with an at. It had very low miles and I think it sat for a bit too long. The thermostat was rusted solid and the cooling system was full of rust. I've flushed it with a cleaner and replaces the hoses and plugs. Now, I know ATs are slow but there is something seriously wrong with this car.

0-60 in around 16 seconds.
Can't go above 85 mph.

I'm not hearing any crazy noises but I will say that she isn't as quiet as the rx7 my uncle owned. Thinking a possible exhaust leak but I can't see how that would strip this much power away.

I'm also experiencing a TON of heat coming from the firewall and center console.

Please help me. I'm having a hard time finding anything like this online.

Perform a compression test. Examine the cats to make sure they aren't clogged.

And yes, the vert automatics are ridiculously slow.
