Doing an engine rebuild. Which parts can I reuse, which parts do I need to order?

Doing an engine rebuild. Which parts can I reuse, which parts do I need to order?

So I just took apart my FD 13b rew. Sent off the housings and irons to RX7 Specialties to have them resurfaced, studded and bridgeported. Now I have the eshaft and the rotors to check over for damage. I see no visible damage on the rotors that would be obvious and I only see some small scratches on the shaft. What should I look out for and how can I know whether or not I can reuse these parts?

I’m also open to advice about how to best clean the rotors off. I’ll attach some pictures.

here's a link to a copy of the FSM: Foxed.ca

are those areas of the shaft that you're showing grooved? can you feel them with a fingernail? if not, the shaft can be polished. beyond that, the specs can be found in the FSM.

the rotors actually look pretty good (from the photos) - like you've already done some heavy cleaning. you'll want to spec the apex slots. what was going on in that last photo?

now, as with most things, there's more than one way to get it done.

in the last photo you posted, there is some kind of marking on both sides of the apex slot (right around where it passes over the spark plug). the slot looks straight, but the marks make me think something made contact. i can't remember ever seeing that in an engine i've pulled apart, so i'm just trying to see what it is.

Yeah I think everything is good. I think its just a cleaner surface maybe because thats where the spark is.

To add to the above about the eccentric shaft, I don't like the look of the rotor bearings and can see some wear. I would definitely replace the rotor bearings while its apart. You will need the special brass pressing tool and a press to do so. But I honestly wouldn't reuse those. Now is the time to replace those.

On a side note, I recognize your C4. I follow you on IG and i have a seemingly identical Arctic White 93 6spd.
