The only one that I'm aware of that is a full bolt in (more or less) is the HKS unit....which if you can ever find, is about $6,000 US.

Far as I know there is no kit to adapt the FC R-type transmission to straight cut gears and dogs. It would all have to be custom machined.

Your best bet may be to look at what the options are for the T5, as the T5 can be bolted into the FC with the help of a kit from Kennedy Engineering. As the T5 is a very common domestic transmission, a dog version will be FAR cheaper and easier to buy/build.

Have a look at this topic:

Yes, your question is weird because you are asking it on an internet forum rather than asking your crew chief or other racers.

The PBS MDR-1 transmission, or the dog replacement gearsets from Guru or Quaife will work with little modification to the car. Some people have also used Jerico or Hewland transmissions with appropriate modifications to the car, and I am sure that many other brands have been used. I recommend that you ask the current RX-7 racers what would be the most competitive in your race class. You are also going to need to ask them about what to use for the clutch pack and flywheel.

I haven't seen the HKS Dogmission for sale in a very long time, so it may be out of production. Come to think of it, I haven't seen a PBS MDR-1 for a while, either. I think the world economy is killing off a lot of the $200K recreational race cars and related parts.

yea I looked in to the guru dog box last night and I feel in love with it but it would be a long time befor I can aford that. I was looking for somthing that would hopfully not cost me 5000-6000 dollers if there even is somthing out there that wouldnt cost that much. I dont really no what a t5 trannsmission is but it looks like it would require a little bit more modification to the car that I would be comfterbule with. I think I will do a little more searching yet.

none for mazda? ok.

maybe send 'em a note. i'd say they can build anything, though will probably blow your $5k limit, especially with that pesky exchange rate.

the circuit racing fella i posted the video of has one behind a 13b.

it will still be a wile before I can aford a dogbox. but I was looking at the tex raceing t101 I belive it was. it seems to be what im looking for and they can run from 2000-4000ish bucks. it requires some modification 2 the tranny tunnal but seems very worth it.
