Got this FD a few months ago and just been working on getting it more streetable as it was clearly a drift car when it was in Japan.

The entire time I've had this car though I've been trying to track down this horrid noise coming from the rear end when under part throttle and turning.
So far I've replaced the pillow *****, alignment, rear toe links, trans fluid, diff fluid with additive, rear brakes, and coil overs. Most of these the car just needed but thought i would add them in the list.

"With Limited Slip Differentials, a "Chatter" on slow speed acceleration AND turning at the same time."

Was really hoping the fluid change and additive would fix it after readying this on mazdatrix.

So, any other ideas?
i suspect i either need a driveshaft, diff, or axles.

 

Tough to diagnose your noise over the net, but if it was ragged as a "drift" car the differential and half-shafts have had a hard life. Also curious what "additive" you put in with the gear oil change. The stock FD torsen differential requires no additives. Just quality 75w-90. I recommend a good synthetic.

 

just a basic a/c delco additive recommended by mazdatrix for this problem.
and yeah i used their diff fluid too. didn't really seem to make a difference.

i know its hard to diagnose over the net but i am a mechanic and having trouble myself.

basically parking lot speeds and turning causes a massive banging in the rear end. looking for anyone that has cured this problem before or similar.
looking into the rx-8 diff option but unsure if they can handle the extra power i have in my FD.

 

If the car was previously drifted, are you sure you don't have a KAAZ diff? Apparently those are preferred for that use and I understand banging on low speed turns comes with the territory with that diff.

 

I'm not sure what's in it but I wouldn't be surprised.
i know that whenever the car is driven hard it always feels better.
