I have a 1988 Mazda Rx7 GXL with B13. Car has set for many years. Engine turns over but will not start on its own. A shot of starter fluid engine fires right up and idles great, but once you give it throttle it begins to surge all thru the the throttle range. Fuel system has been flushed, tank cleaned. Tune up done, Brake system totally redone along with clutch stystem. so what do I need to check about the surging issue.

have you checked the timing?

 

by fuel system flush, did you include having the injectors serviced?

 

Just ordered new Injectors will go from there

 

Where did you buy injectors? thinking about changing mine as well

 

Have you pulled and cleaned the throttle body? The plates will stick and cause surging.

 

you should consider having them rebuilt also. my car runs great after doing this. got rid of the 3800 rpm hesitation and smoothed out my idle.
