dellorto carburetor fuel ?'s. help please!

hi again folks.. well today i luckily obtained a complete & running 13b swap with a dellorto (dhla48) carb,RB intake manifold and an RB header.the person i bought it from had the swap in a 1980 rx7 with the oem mechanical fuel pump ofcourse and he said he also had to run an external inline fuel pump with an inline fuel regulator already set up to how much fuel the carb needed.this was done to add more fuel to the carb or else it would not get enough fuel. my question is since iam dropping this in my 1985 gsl-se which is equipped with an internal fuel pump shouldnt i get enough fuel to the carb if i just run a 255 walbro fuel pump and skip using another fuel pump inline??? please help you all iam super excited about dropping this motor in my car but i need to make sure i do it right..

Both the factory GSL-SE and Walbro 255 are Fuel Injection rated pumps... That is, they run at about 40-50 PSI...

Carburetors need much less.

I suggest the Holley Red pump and a fuel pressure regulator. Fairly low cost, the setup should be around $100.

cool, well since this set up already has a fuel pressure regulator do you think i can get away with just using my stock fuel pump??

Fuel Psi

for these type of carbs you dont want to run any more than 4 psi that more than enough/ i have a set of mikuni 44 and im runing 4 psi and run like champs. ohh byt the way i would not use your stock pump and try to regulate it down to 4 psi it might burn up so i would recomend going to pepboy auto zone or kragen or what ever auto parts store you have and ask for a electri carburetor fuel pump theyll know what to look for as these pump are low displacement pumps and run any were from 2 to 13 psi depending on brand but any inline electric or drop in fuel pump will do the trick. and if they dont have any try Sumit or Jegs online and order it its fast and easy.

just go to Summit and get a high volume carburetor pump, a regulator and a gauge.
