I am a student and was looking at getting a first generation rx7. How much should I expect to spend for good-fair car, and what can I expect to spend for car that is in excellent shape in Canada? It would be nice to know from the people that are in the know. From what I can figure $1500 to $4000 seems reasonable.

The price of 1st gens is going up. A few years ago you could find nice cars for $2000. Now you're spending $4000 to get a nice example. The prices go higher for so-called "mint" cars.

I picked mine up for 1500, but then again the guy was hard up for cash.

NC cheap rx

got my car off craigslist for 500.00 bucks. 1983 w/auto trans only 102miles on itIt has a strong engine needs paint and a little tlc. was driving it every day until my neutral safety switch went out. but it should be an easy fix. There are a few good deals out there. It even came with all the paper work including service records and window sticker
