A couple of questions I I

I looked through the FAQ section here and didn't see the answers, so I've got a few about the sa/fb cars.

I've been told there is a 8.8" kit to upgrade the rear, and I know those will hold the torque I'm looking at, but are there any other budget oriented options I should consider to handle 400+ lb ft?

How wide is the engine bay in these(need to figure out which turbo manifold I could use)

I have already been told you can flip the factory cross member to gain oil pan clearance, but will the FC subframe allow for the same clearance?

Can FC hubs, knuckles and brakes be adapted to a sa/fb?

I think those pretty much cover my ponderings of the evening.

You created your own Frequently asked question if you do NOT state what series of car that you want to do all this work to.
Remember to do it now and it will be Easier once you get to the main forum. They will eat you alive out there!

That's because you are not asking common questions. Not a bad thing, just FYI.

I can't think of a more budget oriented part than one that can be found by the hundreds in junkyards across america. The stock one can handle a surprising amount of power, but not enough for your goal. It's just a matter of physically fitting parts into the stock casings.

No clue.

Here's an FC subframe.
You'd have to re-do the steering rack mounts, chassis mounting points, suspension mounts. Basically everything that makes it a subframe. The FB subframe can do it because it uses a steering box and body-mounted linkages.

Brakes-yes. Hubs and spindles - not sure. These guys do a lot of upgrade kits for 1st gen's specifically. Welcome to Re-Speed

Also, grannysspeedshop has a lot of info about big power solutions.

Its in the first line, SA/FB

Edit: Thank you rxspeed, that was helpful for starting it all out. I'm looking at F2T powering a sa/fb, so most of the power stuff is already taken care of. I'll have to end up asking more specialized questions later down the road pertaining to the FC suspension adaptation.
