Coolant tank neck crack
Hey all,
I noticed some coolant coming from the passenger side corner of the R1 lip. It seems that the neck of the coolant reservoir has a crack in it, big enough to lose coolant during spirited driving.
I was wondering if someone could recommend a reliable source for getting a replacement coolant tank from, and in general a good source for rx7 parts.
Also, I plan on doing this on my own, so if anyone has a writeup, that would be very useful.
Thanks,
Deniz

If you need it, I absolutely second Malloy Mazda. Ray in particular, but I've also had good service from others there in the parts dept. if Ray happens to be out. Quick shipping and fair pricing.
Once your post count is up, there is also the 3rd. Gen Parts For Sale section for used parts. You can also post a Want to Buy (WTB).
As for a write-up, that's one of the few things I've never had to mess with, but if it's like the windshield washer tank on the opposite side, you just need to pull the RF wheel and fender liner off to access. Fender liner has some plastic retainer clips. Nothing hard, but take your time removing them so hopefully they can be re-used. If not, the local parts store should have replacements. Probably a couple of 10mm bolts holding the tank.
If you haven't yet, go to the 3rd Gen. Section and download a copy of the Factory Service Manual (FSM ) and it should give you more info.
