Coolant Fan Stays on Overnight on my 93 FD.
Hey everyone,
So just this morning my battery died, because the fan was running all night long. I know it's normal for the fan to be on still minutes after a normal temperature engine, but this thing stays on all night. Any ideas?
I pop out the fan fuse overnight for now, but it's a first to leave a fuse on my nightstand.
Just need some opinions I guess before I start digging in. Thanks for your time!

Actually it's NOT a stock situation for the fans to run after shutdown. Sounds like someone did 'the fan mod", which is simply grounding a wire at the ECU. Doing so will cause the fans to run for 10 minutes after shut down IF the temperature is above a certain threshold. More info here:
Cooling Fan Modification
Check and see if that wire is grounded. If it is, disconnecting it may solve your problem. But the actual cause maybe a bad coolant thermoswitch. If you end up changing the thermoswtich, I recommed the S5 version, which has a lower (95 C.) threshold rather than the S6 version (108 C.)
