TN Coolant in engine..

I took my engine out to for a rebuild. I stripped it down and when I turned the flywheel a good amount of coolant came out of the exhaust port. I normally work on DSMs and this is my first RX7. I know in a piston engine coolant in the cylinders is no good and I'm assuming it being in the rotary isn't a good thing as well. Is this a seal problem?
