coolant?

I have a 85 rx7 and my coolant seems to be magically vanishing away. As far as im concerned I don't think its being burnt in the engine, because there is no white smoke out the tail. or im an idiot and dont know what to look for.

Any common problems that I could look for, or tests to see.. were its going. looks like nothing is on the ground..

the man who sold it to me left out all the fun stuff... $$$

Two places to look...first one is under the beehive oil cooler. Look under it for hoses not tightened or leaking a little bit. It could be that the engine has to be hot and the coolant hose under pressure before you'll see an obvious leak. There's a "J" shaped hose there infamous for failing...I keep a spare in the garage, it's that bad.

Second place is under the carb area where the idle misture screw is located. Can you see any coolant in the "valley" in that area between the engine block and the manifold? The O-rings between the manifold and the block may be on their last legs.

In any situation, DO NOT USE ANY ANTI-FREEZE STOP LEAK PRODUCTS!

Check all of the coolant lines for leaks is step 1, but if there are no leaks it could be a coolant seal.
