Contacts in GSL SE ignition switch

Contacts in GSL SE ignition switch
In working on the ignition switch in an '85 GSL SE, I had to resolder the wires to a set of contacts that are in a small nylon box that mounts near the locking mechanism. Does anyone know what these contacts do?
