climate control system does not work?

I have a 1987 Mazda rx7 and my climate control system does not work. The only thing that works is that I can change the blower speed and it only blows hot air out of all the vents except the window defroster. I can't change the direction or adjust the temperature. The recycling button works. Any info will help thanks

It is very common for the "logicon" (HVAC control panel) to fail due to poor solder joints. First step in troubleshooting this is to remove the logicon and resolder all major joints.

The FC system is all run by servo motors controlled by the logicon. Failure of all the air direction motors typically points to solder joints.

The air mix motor is the same issue. Solder joints. If not, replace the air mix motor.

Also worth taking a look at the heater core box and verify that it hasn't been hacked up. Previous owners and mechanics do strange things to systems they don't understand.

I'll have to give it a try. When I took the logicon off it looked like the big plug in the back was replaced cause all the wiring to that was split and soldered. Is there a write-up on the solder points to be resoldered?
