Chance that only seals are blown?

So I bought my 85 off of my friends dad. He supposedly drove it to work and before leaving the parking lot on the way home, the car was running like crap. Had the car towed home and found out it had terrible compression.

Now I bought the car knowing it had bad compression, my question is: how likely is it that only the seals are blown and that there is no rotor or housing damage?

I'm hopefully going to have her open this weekend, just have to remove the flywheel, and I'm a very optimistic person, who could really use some realism right now lol.

You won't know the damage until you open it up..simple as that.

BUT as a second opinion I personally would re-affirm that the engine is showing bad compression before you even start to tear into it.

I did not run a compression test myself but he did have pictures. When I rotate the flywheel I only hear one 'pff' as well. The car only has 80k on it, but I guess I'll find out soon enough this weekend. Thanks for the help
