Question CEL on when I let off the throttle

Hey all,

I'm not really a "new" member, but I am certainly a rare poster.

My problem is shortly after starting the car up after I drive it for a few minutes the check engine light comes on. But it only is on when my foot is off the throttle. When I'm accelerating or holding my rpms the light is not on.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

-Alex

Pull the codes as per the instructions in the FAQ. Sounds like a TPS code.

Thanks! I just pulled the code. It came out as a "LPSSPPLPSS" which if I'm reading the code right would be "12 - Throttle Sensor (TPS) Full Range - Fixed at 20% open". So if this is indeed the problem, how do I fix it? My car is a s5 NA by the way.

Test the TPS with a meter as per the instructions in the FSM to confirm that it is bad. Maybe it is just unplugged? If it's bad, then replace it.
