87 2+2 small problems
Hey ppl I got an 87 2+2 with 123k original miles.
I've got a buddy with a twin turbo gxl but he's busy working a lot.
Basically I've got an Exhaust leak to where I hear it coming from the Manifold. Not sure if I have to replace a Gasket or Flange idk.
But on the Technical side,
right under the Adjustable suspension switch, the switch used to adjust the side mirrors stopped working.. Also, when I got the car the Passenger side power window switch was broken. I got another one, from a guy that oroves to me that it works by plugging it in on his Vert. I'll press that switch down and it won't do anything, but I can roll the Window down by using the switch on my Driver-side..
Any help would be Appreciated. I got this old Haynes manual and it sucks from my opinion.

As for the exhaust leak, a common area is between the exhaust manifold and cat. With the car cold, start it up and use your hand to check all the flanges. You'll be able to feel exhaust. Just be careful because it will heat up fast.
You might be able to get away with just replacing the gasket. Use an OEM gasket as aftermarket ones suck.
If it's between the engine and the manifold, then the manifold is likely warped and will need to be machined before the gasket can be replaced.
Window and mirror switch problems are very common. The switch contacts get all gummed up. You may be able to fix them by cleaning the contacts with contact cleaner and fine grit sand paper, but it will be a temporary fix. If swapping switches does not do it, then the motors need to be tested as per the instructions in the FSM.
Your friend with the twin turbo GXL is interesting though. Such a car was never made by Mazda and it would be interesting to find out what setup is being used.
