i was driving down the street and out of know where my car sounds bad sputtering and some smoke by my exhaust manifod i drive it back to my house and my cat and both sides of my exhaust pipe is glowing red any ideas what cause this

 

bad cat, needs to be replaced

 

If you can get a catless midpipe, it's the way a rotary is meant to sound.

 

I've had a cat glow red when car was running way too rich
