carpet removal
I have stripped my whole interier and I just have the main carpet to remove yet but Im not ready to remove the dash yet. How do I get the carpet out from under the dash? if I just pull really hard will it slide out from underneth. I could cut the carpet because Im not puting it back in the car, but I dont realy want to do that in case I need it in the future.

On the FD I had to remove the dash and the HVAC, not only is it fully flush and kept in place by all that hardware there was also a screw smack dad in the middle that came up through the carpet so no way pulling it would of taken it out. Don't know if the FC's are the same but I say you're better off removing it all.

The carpet goes up the transmission tunnel pretty well to the firewall and is wedged in there real good.
What I did in recent removals was to take an exacto blade and cut a piece out, leaving the carpet under the center part of the dash. You can undo the 2 bolts on each side of the center where those little Triangular plates are (held with phillips screws)Then undo the back part of the center console of the dash, and you should be able to lift it up enough to get in and cut sideways across the trans tunnel, and towards the dash.
When you got to remove your dash you can get that piece out.
If you slit it in the center you will still be ok as the slit will stay together once the center shifter area goes back down in place.

. yea you prity much have to take the dash out the heater core and everything sits right on top of it and it has some sort of adhesive holding it on to.
