Hello, I have an 87' FC N/A I've been restoring over the summer and I can't seem to figure out what's wrong with it. Car needs starter fluid to start, but once it's going it idles around 1k for a few minutes, then once it's warm it leaps to 3k. If I try driving it, it bogs down and dies. Any ideas?

 

Let's hear some more history on the car.

Did it sit for a long time before you got it?
Fuel - is it new and fresh?
Fuel filter - replaced?
Injectors cleaned or serviced?
Check for vacuum leaks?
Followed the FSM for TPS calibration?
Followed the FSM for verifying the MAF sensor is functioning correctly?

 

Sorry for late reply. Don't think it was left sitting, previous owner drove it but sold it cause he was able to get an fc3s. I've replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump, can't find any vacuum leaks. Gonna check injectors.

 

did you check the air fuel meter ??
