car does not start reliably

i have a 1988 convertible that's basically stock (cold air)

I recently replaced the non replaceable u joints (was not fun but i got it done) and fixed some exhaust leaks while I was at it. The car was sitting for about 2 months and started up OK with some struggling after it was finally put together but i considered that to be expected.

I drove it about 14 miles with out any major problems. But when I went to start it the second time it started but immediately died. I finally got it to start and drove. The third time I tried to start it, it would not start so I had to pop the clutch but it barely started.

Also the add coolant buzzer keeps going off whenever the ignition is in the run position but the engine is not started. Coolant level is fine.

The car runs great when its started and warm (so nice to drive it again after driving a fwd saturn)

And ideas?
Thanks

You might have a hot start and coolant seal problem. How you tried doing compression test and coolant test? One of my RX7s add coolant buzzer kept going off and I found out my coolant seal went....
Just a little suggestion. It never hurts to test it out! Good luck

Thanks for the reply, I'll try it. Hopefully that's not it though...
