It burns my eyes!

It burns my eyes!
So I have a smog-er-ific 86 RX7 non-turbo GXL.
I'm still learning alot about it and pretty much fixing as I go.
I always thought my eyes would kinda sting when I drive because I put too much eyeliner on or something, or that it was because I was tired. But yesterday I was driving with a friend who owns a slightly smoggy FD and he said, "wow your car is so smoggy it burns my eyes."
Here I thought it was just me...
I'm not sure what's causing it, there were some crazy mods done to it because I acquired the car, and I just want to make sure it's not hazardous to my health to drive it.
Help?

Plus 1 on the exhaust leak.. Check for vac leaks after the secondary fuel injectors.. Shake your charcol canister the big black thing on the passenger strut tower if when you shake it .. It sounds like chucks are moving around its prolly not doin its thing.. A bad o2 sensor may do it ..also your pulsation dampener could ... ( my 7 with it would make my eyes sting.. And after I drive I'd smoke a cigar...in front of the car.. I thought they were selling me gas tasting cigars.. )check for small fuel leaks..

There were several mods that are causing me to be a gross polluter, the entire exhaust system is changed out, CATS still intact - condition currently unknown, and shown in the pic is some sort of line purposely traveling to another line (when it probably shouldn't); and a friend of mine stated that my car will never legally pass smog with that.

it's everywhere?!?!!? just like the oil!!!... I should take a picture of the under body when I get an opportunity. there is a thick film of oil all over... unfortunately, I'm no bloodhound so I cannot pin point the aroma... but I'll gladly take on the challenge!

Do you mean to say that when you drive, the smell of the exhaust makes your eyes watery? My FD use to have this problem too, and for me, it was the catalytic converter. Did you already pass smog? When I had this problem, I replaced my cat with a random technology high flow metallic subtrate converter, and the smell was gone and I passed smog. If the cat has never been replaced before, id replace it, because im almost positive that will solve your problem.

at oppa637 for asking if you were a girl prior to helping.
I agree with Ernesto13B and kutukutu1. It should be a clogged cat. And I don't think you'll pass smog with a midpipe.
Oh! Just noticed...if your in castro valley San Francisco I think I've seen your car. I pass by every Wednesday and see a brown first gen parked at the same spot all the time. That be you? If so I can come by and check it out if you'd like.

jk jk, more pics of the engine bay, and exhaust would be nice. drive the car for a bit and look under at the cat, cloged cats normally glow cherry red.

Oil everywhere under the hood, I would look first where its coming from. There is a chance that that smog, smell, eye burning bastard is just the oil being thrown around burning off your hot engine. Do you have this problem immediately when you start and drive off, or only after you engine is hot? If only when hot, open your hood when its hot and look for where the fresh smoke from burning oil is coming from.
Its a simple idea, but I figured I'd throw it out there since you mentioned an oil coated engine compartment. And personally, I have an affinity for girls, maybe its just me? In fact, 20 years ago when I was a BMWCCA member, a female driving coach taught me to shave a good 2 seconds off my autocross time. Pretty damn good.

yay! I don't mind being "rotorgirl"
Haven't been able to do much about the oil leak, but I have been looking at new cats online. The money I'd have the shell out now furrows my eye brows...
It's smoggy throughout the duration of the drive, my eyes only burn in the beginning, and because of the rain and because I've been going out of town on business my problem is still present.
This weekend I should have some time on Sat, and I'll keep you gentlemen posted (hehe).
