Build plan opinions?

Hi, I've just gotten a 94 RX7 Type R. I'm planning to do some work on it this winter so I can hopefully drive it this summer.

I need to pass OOPI first, so I got some blank rotors and Bonez stage 1 pads, along with a set of pilot sport a/s 3 plus tires. I'm also replacing the turbo coolant lines, rats nest and the oil pan gasket due to leaks. After this I'm planning on getting an aftermarket ast and radiator, a power fc, and an upgraded fmic along with a cold air intake, air pump delete and efini y pipe. I already have a catback and want to get a catless, non resonated midpipe too.

Is there anything you guys recommend that I get/don't get?

Thanks for reading.

just keep it stockish to get it to pass certification/emissions first.
Does AB have Emissions testing?...if so make sure that you keep it testable. After that you can alter the exhaust BUT make sure that you can swap it back to re-do the test later.
If you guys have no emissions then go nutz man!

Luckily we don't have emission testing. Do you think I'll be fine installing the cold air intake and efini y pipe before getting a power fc? I also have a catback.

Good plan on going after maintenance and reliability first! Make sure you do all the fluids too.
For an upgrade benefiting both reliability and power, a downpipe should be early on the list.
General rule of thumb is 3 mods before a computer, conservative might say 2.
A couple gauges should be early on the list too, water temperature as the factory gauge is mostly worthless, and a boost gauge since it can help troubleshoot and is fun too.

There are some pretty good buys on Ohlins shocks now, check out SakeBomb garage if you want to upgrade suspension. Make sure all bushings and bits are fresh and tight.

Enjoy the fun!

The intake,y pipe and catback would not effect the Safety or running of the car while stock..so sure why not.
I'd leave the cat ON though until after the certification as they like to see stock parts on.
After you get the safety done and registered then you can go to Town...or Edmonton..haha!

Yeah for fluids I'm planning to use castrol gtx (debating between 10W-40 and 20W-50, summer car, outside temps gonna range from around 5 C to 30C), redline mt-90 in the trans, redline gl-5 in the diff, prestrone green coolant, dot 4 for the brake/clutch fluid, and valvoline synthetic ps fluid.

I'm coming from a subie and people have had issues with leaning out from installing a cold air intake without a tune, but you think it'll be fine since it's the only real airflow mod?

Thanks for help

Mostly agree with your list. If you're going to the trouble to re-seal the oil pan in the car, I'd add a pan brace. Banzai Racing sells them and the block-off plate kit you'll need for the removal of emissions components. DO NOT use a pan gasket. Search the 3rd Gen. section.
Cooling is everything, especially as you add performance mods. Because of that, I'm not a fan of FMICs on a street car. They're exposed to debris and slow animals, require more plumbing, almost always require relocating and fabbing and compromise the crash worthiness of the car. But mostly they're a big heat sink in front of the radiator. There are decent SMICs out there that provide good IATs, or if you're really flush, go with a VMIC.
Going with your non-resonated mid-pipe can lead to boost creep which can cost an engine. And a boost controller won't do anything for creep. And personal preference, but IMO it makes them obnoxiously loud and smell like a camel's ***.

You're right...'camel's ***' is to vague and probably too generous. How about Michal Moore's bathroom the morning after a burrito binge. Or maybe Roseanne Barr's naughty parts. Better?
