bridgport engine managment

If you're going to run fuel injection on a bridgeport engine, you'll need a custom intake manifold to take advantage of the port size. In order to tune the engine appropriately, a piggyback is not going to cut it. The majority of cheap, budget bridgeport setups use carbs.

The stock ECU will run a bridgeport if you upsize the injectors, but it won't run well. It will be somewhat like running a bridgeport on a well tuned carb. In other words, it will run like crap.

"Not streetable" is one of those things that comes from the days of carbureted bridgeports. With a properly tuned EFI system, the only annoyance with a bridgeport is the poor fuel mileage. And I guess the idle can qualify as an annoyance, depending on point of view.
