brake lights quit working

in my 1987 my brake lights quit working. my brake switch has power coming from it and my tail lights come on when i turn the lights on. but still no brake lights. i checked the fuses and bulbs which are both good. im thinking that it might be the brake relay switch needs to either be replaced or resoldered. im really hoping that its not the actual wire itself that needs to be replaced....cause that would mean having to tear into the interior wiring harness... please help if you have ever had this problem. and if you possibly know the places that have to be resoldered. also my warning surround clock has never worked since i bought the car but i heard that all it needs is to be resoldered also. thanks in advance.

did you take a voltage meter to the connector of the bulbs and have someone hit the brakes to see if it jumps? That would be what I would try next...see if the connector is bad before I'd start tearing everything apart. I mean it looks like you've pretty much covered everything else lol

yeah i did that yesterday. still nothing so im guessing its the brake relay behind the fuse box. if all else fails i will just straight wire from the brake switch to the tail lights like a normal car. what is best?
