Brake leak please help
I just got off the phone with mazda and they want to replace the abs in my 1993 mazda rx7 for more money than im will to spend atm. If anyone has any suggetions on how to repair that or a cheap replacement I could really use the info
Im not a mechanic, but it is where all the brake lines join the abs (unit) there are these cyclinders that are sandwiched between two pieces of metal and bolted together. The cyclinders are leaking from the bottom and it looks like it could be possible to just replace a gasket/o-ring. I have worked on the car to save money before and im will to do it myself if possible.
They wanted like $3000 for the part and like 3 hours of labor at mazda if they could even get the part. I live in Mesa Arizona if you know any shops that could do ALOT better than that. this is just the start of a long list of repairs and i need this to get it back on the road.
P.S.- drive shafts suck to hit on the freeway going 70mph :*(

You can get a good used unit for $100. People eliminate their ABS sometimes so they are plentiful.
It sound like you're describing the banjo bolt connections at the ABS. Mazda uses copper crush washers to gasket above/below the banjo fitting for like $1.00 each. Have a look at the parts diagram (see the stickied threads above) and you can figure out exactly what you want.
Do take care that bleeding an ABS unit can be difficult. I suggest you do some research on that.
