Bogging down and check engine light

To be completely honest I'm not sure how to go about posting on the forum but I'm loosing my mind trying to solve this issue, I have a 1989 turbo 2 fc and under high rpm with the pedal to the floor the car falls on its face, throws a check engine light, bogs down, back fires and will basically just limp foreword if you are light on the pedal but all I have to do is turn the key off then back on and boom check engine light is gone and car runs fine again until you try to punch it

Any help is appreciated thanks !!

You need to check for error codes. Take the Orange wire in a Green check connector located near the lead coil and ground that wire to the negative battery terminal followed by turning the ignition key to on and the codes you have will be displayed on the warning light unit.
