Blew an Oil Cooler Line
Blew an oil cooler line today. I had good oil pressure and I was cruising, I just replaced the line with all new steel braid hose and fittings, it blew the pressure line off the front iron, I shifted neutral and rolled off the highway to be towed. I immediately shutdown the engine, so I am hoping the bearings will be okay. The engine needs a rebuild anyways it has a dowel pin leak, but it ran and it was driveable. I will fix it and see if it turns over if it starts, if there flakes in the oil. It should be okay.

For how quick you noticed it, your engine is fine. I had the same thing happen to me on my way to work, out've no where the annoying buzzer went off, but i had no light come on, and my temp was fine, pulled off at a party store, got out and saw the mess. I went in, grabbed 5 quarts, dumped them in and hammered it to work (was less than 5 mins away) parked on the side of the street, and called a tow

I will be changing the oil to Castrol GTX 20/50. I have to change the oil anyways, it blew it all out on the highway, the oil pressure went to 0 and the oil light came on, I shifted neutral and shutdown immediately. I had her towed home, I grabbed the main pulley by hand to make sure it isnt seized and it turns smoothly. Should I be able to turn the motor by hand with no tools?
It has a brand new oil filter, and I just drained the oil and put it back in the engine because it was Royal Purple and it was super clean.
