bigger tire size

I'm looking to get a new set of tires soon. I don't have the money to get a new set of rims AND tires, plus I like the way the stock mazda wheels look. They're the 13" 4x110 wheels.

I'm want a bigger size in my tires though. There is just way too much wheel gap for my liking. My car is not lowered or anything either. Stock size is 185/70r13.

I get a discount through napa parts from my father and at stock size I can get a set of 4 tires for about 150.

I love the wider, meatier look of tires. So basically I'm just looking for some good sizes that will still fit on the 13" rims.

It seems the availability of decent sized 13" tires has dwindled. 195/70s would be as wide as it gets without going to a smaller diameter. I have 205/60s on my rx-7 which I think are still available, they're about .75" wider but also .5" shorter than stock.
You might be able to find some 225/60s used somewhere??

Let us know if you have any luck finding a nice size.

If I understand your meaning of "gap', I'm not sure how you would (practically) reduce it without lowering and/or increasing wheel diameter.

I do plan on getting springs for Christmas to lower the car about an inch, I forgot to include that yesterday.

I hadn't thought about spacers for some reason, however, I don't want to go too wide or big at the moment that will require a flare. Wayyyyyyyy down the line I plan on widebody and everything, but for now I'm trying to stay with something that will just tuck very nicely into the well without any additional flare.

Yes, you can have to much and/or to big..

If your 7 of mostly stock a bigger tire can hurt performance, wheel/ tire size should be in proportion to power. Some 205/ 60 or 205/ 70 tires with lowering springs will help but you will need coilovers for what it sounds like you want
