Big guy needs correct seat
Big guy needs correct seat
Hi everyone! I recently purchased a 93FD. The first issue I have, is that I can barley fit in the car. I am 6'1, about 240lbs with a wide frame. The FD currently has some ReCaro SPG seats and I can barely fit in them, my head touches the roof. Does anyone have similar issues and if so, what seats would be most beneficial for a larger guy? I have done numerous searches and everything I find talks about if taller guys fit in the car. That's not the issue. I am more focused on what seats actually work well for taller guys? Are the stock seats ok? Since they can recline a bit? I think my issue is that the ReCaro seats are so upright without the option to recline, not allowing that extra head clearance. If that is the case, I wouldn't mind working a deal out for the stock seats or a seat that adds head clearance.
I greatly appreciate all of the help and look forward to contributing to this forum.

I have a similar issue in my FC not because I'm tall but because Im a bit wide lol. I would love to see if anyone has a good answer for this. I've only heard of people saying you can get a custom made seat but I'm sure that would be a bit pricey.
I've been looking into the Bride Low Max, there's a website PerfectRun Japan parts | JDM parts | Japanese aftermarket high performance car parts that sells them for $2300 shipped
I'm 6'1" at 240ish with very wide shoulders. I fit very nicely in my R1 with stock seats and a bit of lean, I find it very comfortable.
On track days I get a little less comfortable with a helmet so I am fairly close.

I have a similar issue because I went and bought a touring without realizing the effect the sunroof is going to have on me + a helmet. I can Juuuuust barely fit at 6' + helmet with some leaning back of the stock seats. My thighs/legs are the real problem. I'm on the hunt for a way to retain the stock wheel but clear my darn knees..
