WA Bad Motor??

I have a 93fd that had approx 8k miles on a rebuild, w/ turbos. Car ran strong when I purchased it 4 months ago until two weeks ago I was driving it back from the bodyshop and it started snowing. Driving the car at slow speeds desperatly attempting to get it in the garage. I was in the parking lot and I noticed the engine temp was creeping up (it usually says around a 1/4 to 1/3) stock gauge. I know I know they are crap gauges and I had my PFC ready to be installed. Anyways I immediatly shut the car off (leaving the ignition on) and opened the hood. Fan wasn't working and after about a minute I could hear the antifreeze starting to boil. I looked at my gauge and it kept creeping just above 3/4. I hard wired the fan to get extra air to it and after about five minutes it dropped down however the add coolant light came on. Now the car still starts right away but it sputters and can't go much more than 20mph with out it bucking/ cutting out. Hoping its not the motor....possibly a turbo? It seems do do it more when the turbos try to spool.

I'm afraid of trying to diagnose it further if it's going to cause more damage. It took me two weeks for my temp to go down before I could even look at the car.

Going to go check the compression and will post what I find.

Any suggustions?

Sorry to hear ,check your spark plugs and check that you didn't melt your primary cat,if its one of those you would be lucky, fd 's don't like to be over heated fix the cause of the fans not working, best of luck.
